Default Is there a way to turn off alt+f4

I'm kind of angry right now, because I just finished a hm fow clear, and was on my way to the chest, when my thumb slipped to the alt key right as I was switching weapon sets. This stupid coincidence cost me an hour and a half of work, not to mention the mental anguish of having my reward stripped from me cause my hands are sweaty. My question is, is there a way to turn off alt+f4? The only time I "use" it are the couple of times that stuff like this has happened, so I'd really like to just disable it.

Also, to all you would-be flamers out there, I spent all night before last in my dining commons trying (and failing) to sleep because some guy in the dorm nest to mine was building bombs in his room, so please, go somewhere else, I stressed enough as it is.

I think you can change your weapon sets hotkeys to something else, so you wouldn't accidentaly hit alt+f4.

Yep that's the only way to do it, as far as i know there's no way to just disable alt+f4 in windows, or in guild wars.

And there will be flamers, this is a pretty senseless thing to ask especially on here, i don't think anyone cares about your personal life, LOL.

Maybe dry your hands? What are you doing that your fingers are THAT sweaty?

you could also try using the mouse more. I rarely use the keyboard when I'm in pve. Call me a noob if you want, but Ive never had a problem like this.

Building bombs, and I assume you are in college with dining commons?? This wont turn out badly. Make sure you are REALLY good friends with him.

In all seriousness, are you serious about that? If you are, PLEASE notify someone!

Bind your 4th weapon to f5 so you don't quit the game

some gaming keyboards can do this. there's also some programs you can download that disable alt+f4 closing, the windows key, etc. i'll look them up tomorrow when i get home from work.

Hit F11 then the control tab and change the key assignment. Quickest and easiest way to remedy the problem.

Yeah, I switched the numbers to my weapon sets long ago. Didn't really think about this, but now I know just how smart I was back then

The reason I was in the dining commons was b/c we were evacuated. I didn't know the guy, and he was arrested anyways, or else I think everyone would be watching him VERY closely. The reason we were in the dc was b/c the bomb squad was getting rid of the bombs.

To the comment about personal life: I don't want to TELL you about my personal life, I just wanted to avoid 10 pages of senseless flaming before the thread turned to senseless cat pics and was closed, so I decided that in this case, honesty was the most effective option.

My hands aren't THAT sweaty, its just that I have a laptop, the keys are all the same low level and right next to each other, and the plastic is kind of slippery in the first place, so it doesn't take much.

And, of course, to all those who actually came up with helpful posts, thank you, I greatly appreciate your assistance.

...erm no offense but how exactly does that happen, that specific shortcut is place so it wouldn't be just some random slip. I feel bad for you, but when i first saw the title i though, oh man someone fed into the alt f4 gives you free gold cheat thing or something like that.

I feel for you though, next time you do it, make sure you rearrange some of the hotkeys like the suggestions have stated

o.o... Wipe your hands when you notice they're sweaty? o.o
Sorry but, this has never happened to me =o I find it sort of odd to hear it happen (No offense)
But yeah, remapping the keys needed to change the sets might be a good idea, but just don't go into old habits, and press f4 for set 4 :P

Wow, that was certainly unlucky. Either bind your weps to different keys or click on them to change.
